What one paper contains
Each paper has 30 true/false theory items and 3 practical tasks. Each task is one job, such as replacing brake pads, measuring a spark-plug gap or measuring resistance with a circuit tester, with 3 items that each have two choices. Some choices are sentences, some are figures, and some ask you to read a value on a measuring instrument. A paper runs for 80 minutes, the total of the two real parts (60 + 20).
Theory items are spread over chassis, engine, inspection and maintenance, electrical, tools and measuring instruments, materials and lubricants, and body. No item repeats across papers.
Scored like the real test
Results show each part separately. Theory passes at 65% (20 of 30) and practical at 60%; in the app each practical item is worth 1 point, so you need 6 of 9. The app reports a pass only when both parts pass, as the official rule says.
How you study in the app
- Right moves on, wrong stops. A correct answer moves to the next item after about half a second. A wrong answer stops and shows the Japanese explanation with a translation.
- Furigana and translation. Every kanji has its reading, as in the real test. Vietnamese and English translation switch on and off with one tap; once you are comfortable, turn it off to train your reading.
- Flags. Flag items you are unsure of; the colour-coded question grid takes you back fast.
- Missed-item review. Items you got wrong are collected so you can redo them until they stick.
- Redrawn figures. Part drawings and gauge faces are redrawn cleanly and can be zoomed on a phone.
VIP
VIP unlocks papers 4 to 20 and the detailed explanations for missed items. VIP is bought inside the iOS app with Apple payment, and Apple shows the price. The App Store version is coming soon. You can try the free exams on the web now.
Where to start
Take Exam 01 now, with no preparation, to see where you stand. Look at which part is below the pass mark, then read about engine topics, chassis and brakes or reading measuring tools. When Exams 01 to 03 all clear the marks with room to spare, move on to timed papers.

FAQ
Are the mock exams free?
Papers 1 to 3 are free, with furigana and translation. Papers 4 to 20 are part of VIP.
How close are they to the real test?
The layout follows the JASPA sample papers: 30 ○× items and 3 practical tasks × 3 two-choice items, scored at 65% and 60%. The items are written by ViMai, not real test items.
What happens when I get one wrong?
The app stops and shows the explanation right away. A correct answer moves on to the next item, like the rhythm of a CBT test.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on iPhone and Android and can be added to the home screen.
